One year ago I found myself standing on the side of a mountain in Honduras with our close friend and Honduran pastor- Arqui. I was trying to figure out how we could stretch our limited budget to purchase a small piece of land, build a small church (to hold 50-60 people) and support it through some small sustainability projects. We felt like there was opposition to our efforts, the budget didn't add up and there was no clear path...but God continued to put this on our heart.
Fast forward 360 days and I found myself sitting in a 500+ seat church that Arqui is pastoring, visiting a multi acre drip irrigation project that WCN is sponsoring and visiting a WCN sustainable chicken farm that can turn over 1,000 chickens every 40 days (pics below).
How is this possible? Arqui explained it very simply that this is just who God is. He takes pleasure in providing exceedingly more than we ask or can dream when we take steps of faith and follow what the Spirit has put on our heart. What is beautiful to me about this particular situation is that we can take no credit for this. The magnitude of the gift, the relational connections and the rid
iculously unlikely circumstances all point to our beautifully creative God...He gets all the honor. That is exactly how we want it. Not only did He completely exceed our dreams for this particular project, He opened up endless future possibilities through some incredible new relationships. This is the God of power and faithfulness we serve. We are excited to follow the Spirit on our next adventure and watch Him work!
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, 21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
