Haiti Mission Trip 2012

Our small but mighty team recently returned from the WCN mission trip to Haiti.  The team worked with the Mission of Hope [MOH] Haiti in Titanyen- about 20 miles northwest of Port-Au-Prince.  The mission afforded several different ways to minister to people and to do God's work.  We played with and assisted village children in the off-campus vacation bible school [VBS] program.  We also worked in the kitchen to help feed hundreds of children fortified rice meals after VBS each day.  We painted new houses that had been built for earthquake victims.  And, we had the opportunity to do maintenance work on the equipment and facilities on the main MOH campus. Most importantly, we had the opportunity to

pray over and encourage many children and other people needing God's grace and protection. Overall, this trip offered many different ways in which to minister to the poor and suffering.  If you are interested in this type of trip and in going to Haiti, please contact us soon for more information.

Honduras 2012

August 2, 2012

The last week of WCN's mission trips to Honduras is wrapping up. The feed back from everyone that went is astounding. We are humbled by what God has done through each person that said "YES" to God's call and went. Please pray that not only will the Hounduran people we ministered to will seek to serve God, but that everyone who went will continue carry the torch of the overwhelming love and the compassion they felt while in Honduras. July 2012

Our 2nd week of mission trips is well underway and your prayers are appreciated. Our F2F project in Honduras started July 7th and continues through August 4. Over 100 people North Americans will be serving, thousands of people in need will be helped. It is four weeks of God doing His thing in the lives of those willing to serve the poor as well as those who hear our message. Our goals are simple, we want to strengthen and support the local people/churches, transform the lives of those who serve, and give God the glory for every detail. Simple but complicated-difficult but beautiful. Thanks for your prayers!

The first week was awesome!  Trinity Church in South Bend teens filled most of the spots.  They had an awesome time serving the Lord, blessing others and being blessed.  We have many pictures on our facebook page!

WCN recently wrapped up it’s fifth consecutive week of missions, serving the needs of the poor and
suffering in Honduras. As a staff, this is a beautiful time of reflection, remembering all the obstacles the Lord
over-came to see this project through to completion. This was a year of spiritual challenges on so many levels.
The resistance we felt as we worked to get the supplies and food boxes to the poor in Honduras went well
beyond the physical realm...this container had to be prayed through. Thank you for all the diligent prayers
during this challenging time. Our Honduran friends tell us “the devil hates our work”. That is a true statement
and for good reason. These trips are not just humanitarian projects, they change people spiritually. Those that
choose to step out on faith and serve are never the same. Their views of God’s love and the needs of the world
around them change..as the apostle Paul put it “something like scales fall from our eyes ”

Suddenly there is an appreciation for all that has been taken for
granted in the past...and the devil loses a foothold in our lives.
When we act in obedience, giving the Lord our fears, our
resistance and our selfishness, He turns that baggage into faith,
peace, love and fulfillment. When we love well, the world takes
notice and sees our Creator shining through our lives. This
process doesn’t just happen, it starts with our churches and
supporters saying “yes” to the call of action. The Holy Spirit
spreads that theme of compassion to the hearts of so many
people and through them God produces the supplies and
volunteers needed. The result...another church built in El
Progreso and over 40,000 pounds of food, clothes, bibles, and
toys delivered to those in need through the local church. The
gifts you donate to WCN are not simply supplies to meet the
physical needs of those suffering, they are a key to unlock hearts
and pour in the gospel. The true beauty of the Family 2 Family
project is that it requires everyone to be involved. As we all do
our part, we become one and begin to look like the body of
Christ. Christ’s active love changes people for eternity. Thank you
for being involved. Thank you for your continued love and
support.
